Little’s Toddler Bedroom

Little has been in a bed for a week now and is doing so well. I thought it was about time we updated her bedroom as we decorated it when she was about 7 months old. She is now nearly 2 and growing up so fast. We want to create a room that can grow with her and any future siblings!

We are very lucky that she has a good size room – although the layout is a bit of a pain! In her Nursery we had her cot, a changing unit/chest of drawers and a wardrobe. She has a walk in wardrobe that we were using as a dumping cupboard so we have cleared this out and turned this into a wardrobe to free up some extra room. We have put her Kallax unit from Ikea in there too to store towels, bedding etc. There are still a few bits being stored in there but eventually I want it to be just a wardrobe!

I wanted to go for a neutral theme but I don’t like white walls, I find them too clinical. We have decided on Silver Mist for the walls as I wanted them to look fresh and light. I then want to bring pink into the accessories without making it too babyish!

The star cushion, cloud cushion and gingham bedding is from The White Company and I think these will complement the walls well. At the moment we are using Scarlett’s cot bed as a bed but I want to get her a new one once she has got used to it. I love this one from John Lewis as I can imagine some cute fairy lights around the headboard!

We chose the chest of drawers as we have this furniture in our bedroom and its such good value for money and the drawers are so deep so we can fit all of Scarlett’s clothes nicely in them! We also chose to get a bedside table as she has a groclock now and I wanted somewhere to put that! Plus its extra storage for her muslins, tights etc!

Now all I need to do is find little accessories to go on the walls and put all her little trinket bits on her drawers and I think it will be complete.

Is there anything you would add?

  1. I have one of those chest of drawers in our bedroom and if you don't already have some, I'd recommend getting some of the Skubb boxes IKEA do. They fit perfectly and are really good as dividers, they would be perfect for little toddler clothes and accessories x
