I never shared my pregnancy on any social media sites, I guess it just never really hit home. At the beginning of my pregnancy I felt really awkward about being pregnant, mainly down to my own thoughts. I always thought people looked at pregnant women and thought “oh you’ve had sex!” Yes childish of me I know! But now I know that is definitely not the case.
So only people close to me knew I was pregnant. I was in two minds about this as I wish I had shouted it from the roof tops (maybe I wouldn’t have felt so awkward about it!) but I like the fact she probably came as quite a surprise to some people (kept them talking, didn’t it?!)

I had a really easy pregnancy actually, compared to some people I know. I never suffered with morning sickness which I’m so glad about as I absolutely HATE, and I really mean HATE, being sick. I did however suffer with really bad headaches, to the point I could barely move my head because it just throbbed! I also went off food in the early stages. Walking up the meat isle in Asda was my worst nightmare as it made me feel horrendously sick.

I suffered with a really bad lower back pain from very early on which I later found out was SPD (Symphysis Pubis Dysfunction, sometimes known as PGP (Pelvic Girdle Pain). I was referred to a physio for this but there was nothing they could do apart from educate me on ways to ease the pressure put on my pelvis. Sometimes it was so bad I couldn’t sit down, stand up or lay down! I even resorted to the sofa most nights as sometimes this was the only place I could sleep.

I didn’t really start showing until after 20 weeks and even then I hid behind a scarf! I don’t know why but its just how I felt comfortable. None of the parents at work were told until after 20 weeks, don’t ask me why its what the owner insisted on! But towards the end I didn’t stop growing.

I actually really enjoyed being pregnant (after getting over the awkwardness) and I do really miss it. People often said how pregnancy hadn’t changed me because I was still doing the same amount of work, but taking it easy in the same breath. I actually remember trying to squeeze through a gap which I had obviously misjudged because I got stuck! Yes I’m sure you’re laughing at that image, it was quite funny hehe! (Please note: No babies were harmed in the process!) I worked up until 2 weeks before my due date, which I am pretty glad about because my due date came and went!

Looking back through photo’s I cannot believe I was actually that big! I didn’t even develop the pregnant lady waddle until I was overdue, well not that I’m aware of although I’m sure James will tell me different.

It seems like such a long time ago that I was pregnant when just over 4 months ago I was this big and still awaiting the arrival of my baby. Little did I know 4 days later I would have my beautiful baby girl!
