I thought it was about time I updated you all on our weaning journey. You may have read our plans for baby led weaning, if you didn’t then you can here!
Firstly we have found a way to get Scarlett to drink water. HOT! This makes sense now as she will only drink her milk hot so this is what she is used too. We have not been brave enough to try a doidy cup yet but when we do it will definitely have to be a baby pink one from Binxie!
As we are still living with James’ parents she hasn’t had a huge variety of foods but as soon as we are in our own place she will eat exactly what we are eating (at the moment we do not eat dinner until she is in bed!).
She seems to have gotten herself into a routine where she doesn’t go down to sleep until about noon and then sleeps for a few hours thus missing lunchtime! Again once we are in our own place I will try and tweak her routine to fit in breakfast, lunch and dinner.
She has her milk when she first wakes up and then about an hour later we will have our breakfast. She usually has baby porridge (not the biggest fan!) either on its own or with banana or apple. Today we gave her weetabix for the first time (again with her milk) and she seemed to really like it.
As I said above she usually sleeps through lunch time so will just have a little snack when she wakes up as its not long until dinner time. If she does eat lunch though it is normally a few Asda Organic Rice Cakes in either banana or apple flavour, wraps or toast, a few wotsits or quavers and a petis filous. Strawberry is her favourite flavour.
As we don’t eat dinner until late she has a baby jar but we load the spoon up and let her feed herself! She’s not a fan of the jars so once we move she will be eating dinner with us.
I’m going to try and keep a food diary from now on but as we are in the process of finally moving (HOOOORRRAYYYY!!!) time seems to be flying by!
