As a family we love going out to dinner. I find it such an enjoyable experience because we can just sit, eat and enjoy being with each other without having to worry about cooking or clearing up! Italian food is usually our go to because there is always something for everyone. We were thrilled when BritMums gave us the opportunity to try out Prezzo’s new family sharing bowl of pasta – La Famiglia Feast.
La Famiglia sharing bowl has four options: Penne Arrabiata, Spaghetti Bolognese, Spaghetti Carbonara or Penne Alla Rusticana. We fancied trying something different so went for the Penne Alla Rusticana, which is seasoned chicken, pancetta, peppers and rosemary in a creamy pomodoro sauce.
The sharing bowl is a great idea because it saves families taking ages to decide on their individual dishes, only to be left wishing they ordered the same as somebody else – which will always be the case in our family!
We visited our local Prezzo restaurant in Harpenden. This is the first time I had visited. It is a beautiful building that offers intimate dining in its many rooms, each uniquely decorated!
As we chose to go on a Friday night we didn’t manage to get a table until 8pm. Baby fell asleep on the way and Little was getting a bit groggy. Our waitress was very helpful and couldn’t have done more for us!
The food was amazing. A massive caramelised onion garlic bread to start, a HUGE bowl of pasta to share and ice cream for dessert!
I was amazed at how much food there actually was. There was enough for us all to have two helpings as well as some spare! Little surprised us by actually eating it. We ordered her a pizza from the kid’s menu because she is usually funny about peppers and tomatoes! But even she preferred our pasta.
It was so lovely to sit around the table, dishing each others meals and laughing over a delicious meal. The scoop of ice-cream completed the meal perfectly!
