I’ve been meaning to write this post for a while now but you know, life (DISNEY!) got in the way! But it is something I want to document so that I can remember it always.
We did the same for Little in November 3 years ago so it was lovely to give Baby the same ceremony. Now I’m not sure that naming days are that popular in the UK but our local church put on such a beautiful service both times. Naming days are a way to thank God for the birth of a baby without actually christening/baptising them!
What makes it even more special is that both girls have worn the dress my baby (not so baby anymore at 21) sister wore on her Christening day, complete with bloomers. How beautiful is it?
I have to admit that I did let a lot of negativity get to me in the lead up to Baby L’s special day. A lot of people, mainly family, let us down and it made me feel bad on Baby. Now I know she wouldn’t know the difference but I was too busy comparing it to Little’s special day. Now I realise that its all about quality not quantity. And our Baby L celebrated her special day with our close family and friends.
After the beautiful service we put on a little spread in the church hall. It was lovely to watch my girls play with their friends, with our friends and family onlooking! I went all out with the personalised touches for Little’s naming day but wasn’t as organised this time round! However I think we did good and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves.
My beautiful Baby L, I hope your day was just as special as you. I am so thankful that you entered our lives and continue to keep us on our toes!
