Bluestone Wales | Day One

i have finally got round to writing this up. I have had it sitting in my drafts since we got back but life seems to have run away from me!!

We set off from home around 12pm although we’d planned for 10ish but being Scarlett’s 1st birthday we spent some time playing with her new toys!! The Sat Nav told us it would take 4 hours 11 minutes (247 miles) so we knew we probably wouldn’t arrive before 6pm taking into account stops etc.

The journey itself wasn’t too bad. The scenery once in Wales was beautiful and Scarlett was so well behaved. She slept for the first half of the journey and then we stopped for a late lunch at the services. The second half of the journey she started to get bored and there is only so many times you can read the same few stories over and over again! Eventually we stopped again and put her car seat in the front (we can turn the air bags off before you start thinking were terrible parents!!) so she could see more. We eventually arrived at Bluestone Wales around 7pm.

Check in was very quick and easy. I had actually pre-booked online before hand so we just drove up to the window gave them my name and we were given a pack and directions to our lodge!

Bluestones is a no car area but they allow you to take your car in on arrival day to unload your belongings. Finding our lodge was fairly easy as it was a one way route although I would recommend getting there before dark if you can! We stayed in Bartholomew Rise. Number 25 to be exact!

By the time we had unloaded our car to say we were exhausted was an understatement! It was a good job the bed was comfy!

I was actually really impressed with the lodge on first look. It was clean, spacious and modern but with character.

Our lodge had 2 bedrooms, a kitchen with basically everything you would need (including a dishwasher!!) and a wet room. This could be a problem if you have a baby but luckily for us Scarlett doesn’t mind a shower. Bluestone also provide every lodge with a highchair and travel cot but you will need to take your own bedding. Our bed was very comfortable and the pillows.. OH EM GEE! Bluestone if you are reading this I need to know where you got these from!! They were so voluptuous <3

I was very excited to go to bed and planned to get up bright and early to explore!

Keep your eyes peeled for Bluestone Wales | Day Two
