My Grandad, My Hero

It’s a funny thing. I find it hard to understand. How is it that you are no longer with us yet the whole world is carrying on and everything still looks the same.

The day you fell asleep is the day our lives changed forever. I didn’t just lose a Grandad. I lost a father figure, the only man stable and trustworthy in my life. If something needed mending I came to you, when I brought a new car I confided in you and if I needed a laugh one of your terrible jokes was guaranteed to do just that!

You were the kindest, strongest, most gentle man. With everything that went on in your life you never moaned. You always saw the funny side. You are such an inspiration.

I will forever be grateful for everything you have done for me.

Until we meet again, may you rest in peace!

I'm really sorry for your loss, my grandad was my hero too, so I can completely relate. One thing he told me when my friend passed away was.. "Just think of it this way, they're just in another room that you don't yet have the key too, one day you will see them again." I know it may not seem like it, but it does get easier, if you ever need someone to talk to im here for you.. Thinking of you xxx
