My Newborn Must Haves

I know I know, Scarlett is 4 months old and I am only just sharing my newborn must haves. I know every person, mother and baby are different but these are a few of the things (beside the obvious nappies, wipes, milk etc.) that I could not have coped without.

1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6
1. Graco Lovin Hug Swing – Bear and Friends
I absolutely love this swing. It has 6 speed settings, 10 classical songs and 5 nature sounds plus a mobile toy bar with 3 toys. It is suitable from birth with 4 reclining positions and it is so padded and cosy for a newborn. This swing allows me to get things done during the day when Daddy was back at work. Scarlett also loved the swinging motion to get her to sleep. The only negative is that it is quite big but it fit in our little one bedroom flat.
2. Tommee Tippee Closer to Nature Essentials Set
This comes with absolutely everything you need if you chose to bottle feed. It comes with 1 x electric steriliser, 1 x electric bottle warmer, 2 x insulated bottle bags, 4 x 260ml bottles, 4 x 150ml bottles, 6 x milk powder dispensers, 2 x medium flow teats, 1 x pure soother, 1 x teat tongs and 1 x Closer to Nature bottle brush. We paid £64.99 when we brought it (it is now only £60) which is nothing when you look at the price of all these things individually.
3. Muslin Squares
I do not go anywhere without a muslin square because Scarlett was quite a sicky baby. Now Scarlett is attached to her muzzy (as we call them!) and uses it to comfort herself. We have so many of them I have lost count and we have had them from lots of different shops. The best ones we found were from Sainsbury’s.
4. Maxi-Cosi Easy Fix Isofix Car Seat Base
I was told by so many people, even the lady who worked in Babies R Us, that this was a waste of money. This most certainly was not the case for us. This was a back saver as we both had 3 door cars (we now have a 5 door car and still use it) and strapping a car seat in the back was a nightmare. Now Scarlett is safe in literally one click! They are quite expensive but we got ours second hand and only paid £15 so an absolute bargain but I would definately pay the full price.
5. Sleep Body Pillow
If you have read My Top 5 Pregnancy Essentials you will know that this pillow was a life saver during pregnancy and I still use it now. It was great to use after labour as extra padding when sitting down and even now we use it to prop Scarlett up on our bed whilst I’m getting ready etc.
6. Mountain Buggy Cosmopolitan
This is my second buggy since having Scarlett and I absolutely love it! It has a convertible seat (so no need to buy a carrycot) which can be forward facing, rear facing and lie-flat, plus it is compatible with car seats when car seat adaptors are purchased. It has an extra large sun canopy so no need to buy any extra’s really. It also looks very smart with denim exterior fabric and soft, cotton-like interior.
What were your newborn must haves? Would you add anything to my list?

I keep meaning to do a newborn essentials post and haven't gotten round to it either! Totally agree with muslins, we go through loads. Also agree with the isofix base, we have a 3 door and I think life would be a nightmare without it – especially soon after giving birth when you're still a bit sore x

Muslins are just the best – I use them for just about anything you could! Sunshade, sick wiper, blanket, the list goes on! I never had the isofix base when she was newborn, it wasn't until she was a few weeks old that I brought one but I am so glad I did and as you say it would have been alot easier after birth xx
