We were contacted and asked to go along and review Tortilla – a newly opened Mexican restaurant in Watford. If you know me you will know I have a huge love for food so obviously I jumped at the chance!
We decided to go on Wednesday (26th November) as we were in Watford to do a spot of Christmas shopping (although I didn’t actually buy any Christmas presents but you can see what I did buy here) as it was James’ day off.
On arrival the restaurant looked very bright and cheerful – although very empty. I put this down to the fact that it was just gone 5pm on a Wednesday evening – not the most ideal time to be going out for a meal! Having never been before we were not sure whether we had to wait to be seated but due to it being so empty we found the most suitable table (to fit a highchair) and sat ourselves down.
We then went up to the counter and ordered our food. I chose to have Tacos (£4.50) and James ordered himself a medium Burrito (£5.00). The staff were really friendly and asked if we had been before and then continued to explain what we had ordered. We also ordered some tortilla chips (80p) with salsa (50p) and two cans of Sprite (£1.10 each).
There was also the option to have a Naked Burrito which was basically a lower carb option because it is a burrito just without the tortilla! You can view their menu online here.
Overall we really enjoyed our experience (I can assure you Scarlett did too!!) at Tortilla and I am sure we will return. It does seem a bit pricey but it was very filling and very yummy. All they need to do now is desserts for afters 😉
Have you ever been to a Tortilla? What did you choose and how did you find it?!
